When Will I Get Married? What Your Kundli Says About Marriage Timing
By Astro Sandeep, Vedic astrologer and Lal Kitab expert with 21+ years of experience
Key points at a glance
- In when will I get married astrology, the Vedic method reads timing mainly from the 7th house, its lord, Venus and Jupiter, and the dasha running at the time.
- A marriage usually happens when a supportive dasha or antardasha runs and Jupiter and Saturn both influence the 7th house or its lord by transit.
- An accurate birth time matters more for marriage timing than for most other questions, because the ascendant decides which house is the 7th.
- From 31 October 2026, Jupiter moves into Leo while Saturn stays in Pisces, and both aspect Sagittarius.
- Remedies are traditional acts of faith. They can support effort but cannot fix a wedding date on their own.
"Beta, bas itna bata do, shaadi kab hogi?" A mother from Ludhiana asked me this last month while her daughter sat quietly beside her, three rishtas already dropped at the roka stage. I hear some version of this question almost every day. A son in Brampton waiting for PR before saying yes to a proposal. A 31-year-old in Mohali whose cousins are all married. The question behind every when will I get married astrology search is the same: is there a window, and when does it open? The kundli (birth chart) can answer this with reasonable precision, if the birth time is right. Below I show you the exact method I use, step by step. If you want the full picture of how a chart is read first, see how a full kundli analysis is read.

What is when will I get married astrology?
When will I get married astrology is the Vedic method of estimating the years in which marriage is most likely, using the 7th house, its lord, Venus, Jupiter, the running Vimshottari dasha and the transits of Jupiter and Saturn. It gives windows of time, not a guaranteed date, and works best with an accurate birth time.
Which houses and planets decide marriage in a kundli?
The 7th house and its lord are the main indicators of marriage, supported by Venus, Jupiter and the 2nd and 11th houses.
Most websites stop at "check the 7th house." That is only the address. To read timing you need to know who lives there, who owns it, and who is looking at it. Here is what I check, and why.
| Factor | What it shows for marriage | What delays it | What supports it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7th house (Kalatra bhava) | Spouse, partnership, the marriage itself | Saturn, Rahu or Ketu sitting here without support | Jupiter's aspect, benefics placed here |
| 7th lord | Timing trigger; its dasha often brings marriage | 7th lord in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, or combust | 7th lord in a kendra or trikona, or well aspected |
| Venus (Shukra) | Romance and marriage for everyone; spouse for men | Venus combust, debilitated in Virgo, or with Saturn | Venus strong in its own sign or exalted in Pisces |
| Jupiter (Guru) | Blessing of marriage; husband for women in traditional reading | Jupiter retrograde and weak, or afflicted by Rahu | Jupiter aspecting the 7th house or 7th lord |
| 2nd house | Family, kutumb, adding a member | Malefics without support | Benefics or the 7th lord linked to it |
| 11th house | Fulfilment of desires | Heavy affliction | Link between 11th lord and 7th lord |
| Navamsa (D9) | The deeper promise of marriage | Weak D9 ascendant lord | Strong D9 7th house and Venus |

Classical texts like Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika describe the 7th house as the house of the spouse. In my practice, the Navamsa (D9) chart is where I confirm whether the promise in the main chart holds.
How do astrologers predict the year of marriage? My 5-step method
Marriage timing comes from three layers lining up: the promise in the chart, the dasha that activates it, and the transits that trigger it.
I never predict a marriage year from transits alone. Many sites say "Jupiter transiting your 7th house means marriage this year." I disagree. Jupiter visits the same sign every 12 years. If transit alone decided marriage, everyone would marry at 12, 24 and 36. The dasha has to agree first.
- Confirm the birth time and ascendant. The ascendant changes roughly every two hours, and with it, which sign falls in the 7th. A wrong birth time can shift the whole reading. I cross-check with known life events when the time is uncertain.
- Check the promise. Is the 7th house strong or afflicted? Where is the 7th lord? How is Venus? How is the Navamsa? This tells me whether marriage comes early, on time or later, not whether it comes at all.
- Find the activating dasha. Under Vimshottari dasha, marriage most often happens in the mahadasha or antardasha of the 7th lord, Venus, a planet sitting in the 7th house, a planet aspecting it, or the lord of the nakshatra the 7th lord occupies. Rahu's dasha can also bring sudden marriage when Rahu links to the 7th.
- Apply the double transit. When transiting Jupiter and transiting Saturn both touch the 7th house, the 7th lord or the ascendant lord in the same period, by placement or aspect, the event usually manifests. This rule is widely used by Vedic astrologers, and it works best only after step 3 is satisfied.
- Check Venus and the Moon. I look at Venus's transit and the Moon chart (Chandra kundli) as a final filter. When the Moon chart agrees with the ascendant chart, my confidence goes up.

If you don't have your chart yet, you can make your free kundli first and note your current mahadasha and antardasha before your consultation.
What age will I get married according to my kundli?
Age is a tendency read from the strength of the 7th house and its lord, not a fixed number.
In my 21 years of practice, these patterns hold more often than not:
- Earlier marriage (roughly early to mid-20s): benefics like Venus or Jupiter in or aspecting the 7th house, a strong 7th lord in a kendra, and an early dasha of the 7th lord or Venus.
- Average timing: a mixed 7th house where the activating dasha arrives in the late 20s.
- Later marriage (30s): Saturn in the 7th house or aspecting the 7th lord, the 7th lord in the 6th, 8th or 12th, or a long dasha unrelated to marriage running through the 20s.
Saturn delays. It does not deny. Some of the most stable marriages I have seen came after a Saturn delay. Family pressure at 28 makes this hard to hear, I know. But a marriage forced into a weak dasha often brings more trouble than a wait of two years.
Is there a Lal Kitab way to read the marriage year?
Lal Kitab reads marriage from the planets' fixed houses and age-wise cycles, which is a different system from Vedic dasha and transit.
I want to keep the two systems separate, because mixing them causes confusion. In Lal Kitab (based on the 1952 edition), Venus is the karak for marriage and its pakka ghar (permanent house) is the 7th house. Lal Kitab also follows its own cycle of years in which each planet is considered active, and many Lal Kitab practitioners read the marriage year from when Venus or the planet in the 7th house becomes active in that cycle.
In practice, I use Lal Kitab for two things here: to see why marriage is being blocked (for example, a planet in the 7th house that Lal Kitab considers troubling), and to choose simple upay (remedies) that suit that placement. For the timing itself, I rely on the Vedic dasha method above and use Lal Kitab as a second opinion. When both agree, the window is usually right.

What does Jupiter's move into Leo in 2026 mean for marriage timing?
From 31 October 2026, Jupiter enters Leo while Saturn remains in Pisces, so Sagittarius receives both Jupiter's 5th aspect and Saturn's 10th aspect.
In practical terms, if Sagittarius is your 7th house (Gemini ascendant), or if your 7th lord sits in Sagittarius, the double transit condition is met in this period. Leo itself also gets Jupiter's direct presence, which is helpful for those with Leo as the 7th house (Aquarius ascendant), though Saturn's side of the double transit does not touch Leo by aspect.
Please don't take this as a prediction on its own. Without the right dasha, a double transit gives opportunities, introductions and talks of a rishta, not necessarily a wedding. Jupiter also turns retrograde in Leo in mid-December 2026, which I factor in when fixing dates. Check your sign's general trend in the daily horoscope, and get the personal timing from your own chart.

Marriage timing myths vs facts
Most myths about when will I get married astrology come from reading one factor in isolation.
| Myth | Fact |
|---|---|
| Jupiter in the 7th house by transit means marriage this year | Transit only triggers what the dasha has already activated |
| Saturn in the 7th house means no marriage | Saturn delays and matures; it rarely denies marriage by itself |
| Manglik people always marry late | Mangal dosha has several cancellation rules; timing depends on the full chart |
| A gemstone will bring marriage quickly | Gemstones are recommended only after a personal chart check, and no remedy guarantees a date |
| The same prediction works without a birth time | Without an accurate time, the 7th house itself can be wrong |
| Tarot can tell the exact wedding date | Tarot is an intuitive guidance tool, not a system for fixing dates |
Safe, practical remedies when marriage is delayed
Remedies are traditional practices that support patience and effort; they are not a shortcut past the chart.
I suggest remedies only after I have seen the chart, because the same upay that helps one person may not suit another. These are general, safe practices my clients often follow. Anything stronger, including gemstones or rudraksha, should come after a personal chart check.
Vedic upay
- Recite the Katyayani mantra or worship Goddess Parvati on Mondays, traditionally followed by those seeking a suitable match.
- Observe Thursday fasts or offer prayers to Jupiter (Guru) if Jupiter is weak in your chart.
- Read or listen to the Shiv-Parvati vivah katha with family. It also brings a calm mood at home, which matters during rishta talks.
Lal Kitab upay
- Keep good relations with your wife, husband or, if unmarried, with the women of your family, since Lal Kitab links Venus to them.
- Offer food or clothes to a needy married woman on Fridays, with respect.
- Keep your bedroom clean and avoid storing broken items there.
None of these replace the effort of meeting people, communicating honestly with family, or completing a visa process. Remedies support action. They do not override it.

Illustrative example: an NRI case
This example is illustrative and not a real client.
A 30-year-old engineer in Surrey, born in Jalandhar, is under family pressure to marry. His chart shows Gemini ascendant, so Sagittarius is the 7th house. The 7th lord Jupiter sits in the 10th house. Saturn aspects the 7th house from the birth chart, which explains a delay through his 20s while he moved abroad and settled his career.
He is running Venus mahadasha, with Jupiter antardasha due to begin soon. Jupiter is his 7th lord, so the dasha condition is met. From late 2026, transiting Jupiter in Leo and transiting Saturn in Pisces both aspect Sagittarius, his 7th house. Dasha and double transit now agree.
My reading for a case like this: a strong window opens from late 2026, with serious proposals likely and marriage most probable once the Jupiter antardasha begins. One honest caveat. His birth time is "around 4 in the morning" from a hospital in Jalandhar. If it is off by 30 minutes, the ascendant could change, so I would confirm with past events before giving a final answer.
Consulting for marriage timing from Chandigarh, Punjab or abroad
You can get a marriage timing reading in person at my Mohali office or online, and both give the same result when the birth details are accurate.
Most of my clients come from the Chandigarh tricity: Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur and Kharar. Many families also travel from Ludhiana, Patiala, Ambala and Delhi NCR, often with both sets of parents, when a rishta is under discussion. In-person sessions are held at Booth No. 50 (basement), Phase 1, Mohali.
For NRI families in Canada (Brampton, Surrey, Toronto), the USA, Australia and New Zealand, online consultation works just as well. If you were born abroad, I convert your birth time from local time to the correct time zone, including any daylight saving offset in force on your birth date, before casting the chart. If you were born in India and now live abroad, your chart uses Indian birth details, but I read transits for the period you are asking about. Sessions are in Hindi, English or Punjabi. You can also see more about consulting an astrologer in the Chandigarh tricity.
Once a rishta is on the table, the next question is compatibility. Read how I approach kundli milan for marriage and why the 36-guna score is only one step of it.
Frequently asked questions
Can astrology tell the exact date of marriage?
No, it gives a window, not a date. A good reading narrows marriage to a period of months, sometimes a year, by matching the dasha with Jupiter and Saturn transits. The exact date depends on family decisions, muhurat and circumstances. Any astrologer who promises an exact date with certainty is overstating what the chart can show.
Which dasha brings marriage?
Usually the dasha of the 7th lord, Venus, or a planet in or aspecting the 7th house. The mahadasha sets the broad period and the antardasha narrows it. Rahu's dasha can bring sudden or unconventional marriages when Rahu is linked to the 7th house. I always check the Navamsa to confirm the dasha planet supports marriage.
Is when will I get married astrology accurate without a birth time?
Only partly. Without a birth time, the ascendant and the 7th house are uncertain, so timing becomes broad. A Moon-chart reading can still give general trends. If your time is approximate, I use past events like education milestones or a job change to correct it before predicting the marriage year.
Does Saturn in the 7th house mean late marriage?
Often, yes, but late does not mean never. Saturn in the 7th house tends to delay marriage until the late 20s or 30s and favours a mature, responsible partner. Many such marriages turn out stable. The final effect depends on Saturn's sign, its aspects and the dasha sequence.
Will remedies make my marriage happen faster?
Remedies cannot guarantee faster marriage. They are traditional practices and acts of faith that may help you stay patient and positive while the right period arrives. I suggest them only after checking your chart, and always alongside practical effort such as meeting matches and talking openly with family.
Should we do kundli matching before the timing reading?
Do the timing reading first, then kundli milan once a rishta is serious. Timing tells you when the window opens. Matching tells you whether a particular person suits you. You can use the free kundli matching tool for a first look, then get a detailed match reviewed.
Can I consult Astro Sandeep online from Canada or the USA?
Yes. Online sessions work the same as in-person ones at the Mohali office. You share your date, time and place of birth when booking, and I convert foreign birth times correctly, including daylight saving. Sessions are 30 minutes and can be in Hindi, English or Punjabi.
Find your marriage window with a personal reading
A personal chart reading is the most reliable way to answer when will I get married astrology questions for your own life. General articles, including this one, can show you the method, but your 7th house, dasha and Navamsa together decide the window.
If marriage is on your family's mind, book a consultation with Astro Sandeep and keep your exact birth details ready. If love is part of the picture, my love and relationship astrology sessions look at that side too. You can also message me on WhatsApp for booking help.
