Lal Kitab Remedies for Job and Promotion: Planet-Wise Upay
By Astro Sandeep, Vedic astrologer and Lal Kitab expert with 21+ years of experience in Vedic astrology, Lal Kitab, numerology and tarot, Mohali
Key points at a glance
- Lal Kitab remedies for job problems are chosen planet by planet, after the weak planet and its house are found in the chart.
- In Lal Kitab, the 10th house of career is tied to Saturn, so Saturn is the first planet I read for any naukri (job) question.
- The Sun is read for government work and seniors, Jupiter for promotion and respect, Mercury for private jobs, sales and communication.
- Most Lal Kitab upay (remedies) are done in daylight for 40 or 43 days without a break, and only one remedy runs at a time.
- No remedy replaces preparation, skill or a good conversation with your manager. Upay are acts of faith, not guarantees.
A father from Kharar asked me last month why his son, a good engineer in a Mohali IT firm, had been passed over for promotion three appraisals in a row. Same manager. Same feedback: "next cycle." The family had already tried three different totke (quick home remedies) from YouTube, all at once. Nothing changed, and the son was now tired of the rituals too.
This is the most common job question I hear, and the answer usually starts with one planet, not ten remedies. Lal Kitab works best when you find the planet that is actually weak and treat only that. Before you try anything below, read my guide to the rules of Lal Kitab and which upay are safe to try, because the rules matter as much as the remedy.

What are Lal Kitab remedies for job?
Lal Kitab remedies for job are simple, low-cost upay from the Lal Kitab tradition (the 1952 edition is the one most teachers follow) that aim to calm a weak or afflicted planet linked to work, such as Saturn, the Sun, Jupiter or Mercury. They use household items, daily conduct and respect for specific relatives, and are chosen only after a chart check.
That last part is where most people go wrong. A remedy for the Sun will do nothing for a Saturn problem, and in Lal Kitab, a wrong remedy can disturb a planet that was fine.
Which planets and houses decide job and promotion in Lal Kitab?
Four houses carry most of the job story in Lal Kitab: the 10th (work and status), the 2nd (earnings and family support), the 6th (service, competition and daily routine) and the 11th (income and gains).
Lal Kitab reads the chart differently from Parashari (classical Vedic) astrology. It treats the 1st house as Aries whatever your lagna (ascendant) is, so each house carries a fixed sign and a fixed planetary owner. That is why the 10th house, which is Capricorn in this scheme, is linked to Saturn for every chart.
In short: Saturn is the karak (signifier) of naukri itself, the Sun rules government work and seniors, Jupiter rules promotion and respect (its pakka ghar, or permanent house, is the 2nd), Mercury rules private jobs and interviews, and Rahu and Ketu bring sudden changes.
For the Vedic view of the same question (Sun, Saturn and the 10th lord in government service), see my article on government job yoga in kundli. I keep the two systems separate in my readings. Vedic astrology tells me when through dasha and transit. Lal Kitab tells me what simple action to take.

How I find the right Lal Kitab upay for your job: step by step
The right upay comes from the chart, not from a list, so I follow the same order every time.
- Check the birth details. A birth time that is off by 20 minutes can shift the lagna in Vedic reading. Lal Kitab placements depend on houses too, so I confirm the time first.
- Make the kundli. You can start with a free kundli made from your date, time and place of birth.
- Read the 10th house and Saturn. Which planets sit in the 10th? Where is Saturn, and is it in a friendly or enemy house in Lal Kitab terms?
- Check the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury for the type of job: government, promotion-led or private.
- Look for a sleeping or troubled planet. Lal Kitab talks of soye hue grah (sleeping planets) and of rin (karmic debts) that show up as repeated blocks.
- Cross-check the Vedic dasha. If Saturn mahadasha is running, I give Saturn more weight. Lal Kitab and Vedic are separate methods, but the timing still guides which planet I treat first.
- Choose one remedy only. One planet, one upay, 40 or 43 days, done in daylight.
- Pair it with a real action. Update the CV, finish the certification, ask the manager for clear goals. In my practice, the clients who do both see the change sooner.

Planet-wise Lal Kitab upay for job and promotion
Each planet below gets one or two traditional Lal Kitab upay, chosen only when that planet is the weak one in your chart. These are faith-based practices. I recommend any of them only after a personal chart check.
| Planet | Typical job problem | Lal Kitab upay (traditional) |
|---|---|---|
| Saturn (Shani) | Delays, no confirmation, stuck in the same post, trouble with seniors | Treat workers, drivers and helpers with respect; avoid alcohol and dishonest earnings; donate mustard oil or black urad on Saturday |
| Sun (Surya) | Government job attempts failing, no recognition from the top | Offer water to the rising Sun from a copper vessel; respect your father and take his blessing before an exam or interview |
| Jupiter (Guru) | Promotion promised but not given, loss of respect at work | Apply a small saffron or haldi (turmeric) tilak; respect teachers and elders; donate chana dal at a temple on Thursday |
| Mercury (Budh) | Interview nerves, poor communication, private job instability | Respect sisters, daughters and bua (father's sister); give green fodder to a cow on Wednesday; keep your speech clean and promises small |
| Moon (Chandra) | Restless mind, frequent job changes, poor decisions | Take your mother's blessing before important work; keep a small item of pure silver with you |
| Mars (Mangal) | Losing in competition, exams, police or army selection | Keep good ties with brothers; share sweets with family and colleagues rather than wasting them |
| Rahu | Office politics, sudden loss of a role, confusion | Keep relations with in-laws respectful; avoid shortcuts and false promises at work; help sanitation workers |
| Ketu | Feeling stuck, no change, transfers that never come | Feed a stray dog; serve at a Ganesh temple; keep ties with your children and nephews warm |

A few notes from my practice:
Saturn comes first. Many sites give a Sun remedy for every job problem. I disagree. The Sun helps with authority and government work, but in Lal Kitab the 10th house belongs to Saturn, and an unhappy Saturn shows up as delay, not as rejection. If your problem is "it keeps getting postponed," look at Shani before Surya.
Jupiter in the 10th needs care. Lal Kitab treats Jupiter in the 10th as uncomfortable, because it sits in Saturn's house. People with this placement often feel their good work goes unseen.
Vedic upay vs Lal Kitab upay for job
Vedic upay work through mantra, daan (charity), vrat (fasting) and gemstones, while Lal Kitab upay work through conduct, simple objects and relatives, and the two should not be mixed as one method.
| Vedic (Parashari) upay | Lal Kitab upay | |
|---|---|---|
| Main tools | Mantra, stotra, daan, vrat, gemstone | Household items, conduct, respect for relatives |
| Typical duration | Mantra counts, often over weeks or a dasha | 40 or 43 days without a break |
| Cost | Can be high (gemstones, havan) | Usually very low |
| Timing | Planet's weekday, hora | Daylight, between sunrise and sunset |
| Example for job | Aditya Hridayam stotra for the Sun; Shani mantra on Saturdays | Water to the rising Sun; respect for workers for Saturn |
| Risk if wrong | A wrong gemstone can strengthen the wrong planet | A wrong upay can disturb a planet that was fine |

For the timing side of your career, a Vedic career reading looks at the 10th lord, dasha and transits. The Lal Kitab layer then decides the simple upay.

Myths and facts about Lal Kitab remedies for job
Most of the trouble I see comes from doing too many remedies at once, not from doing none.
| Myth | Fact |
|---|---|
| More totke at once give faster results | Lal Kitab asks for one upay at a time; several together can cancel each other |
| One remedy works for everyone's job problem | The upay depends on which planet is weak in your chart |
| Upay can get you a job without preparation | Upay are acts of faith; exams, skills and interviews still decide the result |
| Lal Kitab remedies must be expensive | Most use simple items like water, haldi, silver or service to others |
| You can stop and restart whenever you like | Most teachers ask you to restart the 40 or 43 days if you miss a day |
| Gemstones are part of Lal Kitab job remedies | Gemstones belong to Vedic practice and should be worn only after a chart check |
Lal Kitab rules to follow before starting any job remedy
The rules are short, and breaking them is the most common reason people say "nothing worked."
- One remedy at a time, finished before the next one starts.
- Daylight only, between sunrise and sunset, for 40 or 43 days without a break.
- A blood relative can do it for you (parent, sibling or child) if you are travelling or abroad. A paid person generally cannot.
- No harm to any person or animal, and no wasting food.
If money is also tight because the job is stuck, my sibling article on Lal Kitab upay for money and what to skip covers the wealth side.
An illustrative example: Jupiter in the 10th and a stalled promotion
This example is illustrative, not a real client.
Take a 34-year-old branch officer in a private bank in Panchkula. Hard-working, good results, no promotion in four years. In the Lal Kitab chart, Jupiter sits in the 10th house, which is Saturn's house. Saturn itself is in the 6th. In the Vedic chart, she is running Jupiter mahadasha with Saturn antardasha.
My reading: Jupiter is the weak link for recognition, and Saturn's antardasha explains the delay. I would choose one Jupiter upay for 43 days: a small haldi tilak in the morning and respect for elders and teachers, with chana dal donated at a temple on Thursdays. Alongside it, she should ask her manager for written promotion criteria and finish the pending banking certification.
Would the promotion come because of the tilak? I can't promise that, and nobody honest can. The certification and the direct conversation do the heavy lifting.
Limits of Lal Kitab job remedies you should know
Lal Kitab remedies cannot override effort, a wrong birth time or a company's own decisions.
- If the birth time is a guess, the house placements may be wrong, and so will the upay.
- No upay can stop a layoff or force an appraisal.
- Lal Kitab does not give exact dates. For timing, I use Vedic dasha and transits.
- For a visa, PR or overseas job, astrology can discuss favourable periods, never approval. Please work with a licensed immigration consultant.
Lal Kitab job consultation in Chandigarh, Mohali and for NRI families
You can consult me in person at my Mohali office or online, and the reading is the same either way.
Clients come to the Mohali office from Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur and Kharar, and from Ludhiana, Patiala, Ambala and Jalandhar. If you prefer to meet in person, here is more about my astrology practice in the Chandigarh tricity.
NRI families in Brampton, Surrey, Toronto, the USA, Australia and New Zealand usually ask about job changes after a work permit, or promotions in a new country. Online works just as well through my astrology consultation for clients worldwide. If you were born abroad, I convert your birth time from the local time zone (with daylight saving where it applied) before making the chart. And if you are abroad, a parent in India can perform the Lal Kitab upay for you.
Frequently asked questions
Which Lal Kitab remedy is best for getting a job?
There is no single best remedy. The right Lal Kitab upay depends on which planet is weak in your chart: Saturn for delays, the Sun for government jobs, Mercury for private jobs and interviews. A remedy for the wrong planet does little, so I always check the chart first and then choose one upay for 40 or 43 days.
What are Lal Kitab remedies for job promotion?
For promotion, Lal Kitab usually looks at Jupiter and Saturn. Common upay include a haldi or saffron tilak and respect for elders for Jupiter, and respect for workers and honest earnings for Saturn. These are traditional practices that cannot guarantee a promotion. Pair any remedy with clear goals and a direct talk with your manager.
How many days should I do a Lal Kitab job remedy?
Most Lal Kitab remedies for job are done for 40 or 43 days without a break. If you miss a day, most teachers ask you to restart the count. Do the remedy in daylight, between sunrise and sunset, and run only one remedy at a time so you know what is working.
Can my mother or father do Lal Kitab upay for my job?
Yes, a blood relative can do it for you. Lal Kitab allows a parent, sibling or child to perform an upay if you are travelling, unwell or living abroad. A friend or a paid person generally cannot. Many of my NRI clients have a parent in Punjab do the remedy on their behalf.
Is Lal Kitab better than Vedic astrology for job problems?
Neither is better; they do different jobs. Vedic astrology, through dasha and transits, tells me when a job change or promotion is likely. Lal Kitab gives simple, low-cost actions to calm a weak planet. In my 21 years of practice, I use Vedic for timing and Lal Kitab for the upay, and I keep the two methods separate.
Can Lal Kitab remedies guarantee a government job?
No. No astrologer can guarantee a government job or any result. A strong Sun, Saturn and 10th house in the Vedic chart show a supportive tendency, and Lal Kitab upay can support your routine. The exam, interview and preparation still decide the outcome. Be wary of anyone who promises a sure result.
Can I get a Lal Kitab job consultation online from Canada or the USA?
Yes. Online sessions work the same as meeting at the Mohali office. You share your date, time and place of birth, I convert the birth time from your local time zone, and we talk over a 30-minute call. The upay can be done by you or by a blood relative in India.
Before you start any Lal Kitab remedy for your job
Lal Kitab remedies for job work best when they are few, specific and matched to the one planet that is actually weak. Read Saturn first, then the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury. Choose one upay, keep the 43-day count, and keep working on the practical side at the same time.
If your promotion keeps slipping or your job search has stalled, book a consultation with Astro Sandeep and I will read your Vedic dasha and Lal Kitab chart together.
